Father & Son

Clouds over Bridge“Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, in order that they may behold My glory, which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father, although the world has not known You, yet I have known You; and they have known that You sent Me; and I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known; that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”   – John 17

Jesus tells us allot about His relationship with His Father in the intimate context of John 15-17.

– It appears we (His followers) are gifts given to Him from His Father.

– Our connection with God is rooted as deeply as Jesus and His Father are connected.

– Spiritual life is all about supernatural love that flows from the Father of all living.

It is hard to imagine ancient existence and relationship that eclipses creation itself. It is also difficult to fathom future glory that is promised to Jesus’ followers. And yet this is the reward of a Kingdom life: sharing glory with the Son of God Himself.

In my sight-impaired, earth-bound world I am grateful for a Story that is infinitely bigger than me and at the same time intimate and personal beyond my wildest imagination.

More: The book of John is filled with references to the Father.

John 1:14,18; 3:35; 4:21-23; and the entire chapter 5 of the Gospel of John will get you started.

John 17 captures the heart of the Father for His Son and those who believe (us!), and is worthy of your attention.

Wow!
