One Woven Story

Have you ever experienced a long-time perspective on an issue or set of facts which has proven to be inaccurate or flawed? Where one key presupposition has impacted many other facts built upon it?

It is breath-taking to understand that nowhere in the so-called old and new testaments is the Bible defined as old and new. This has deeply contributed to a dichotomized understanding of Who God is, what He has spoken, and perceptions and beliefs of His unfolding plan for humanity.

Try to imagine a large cord made up of thousands of individual strands of different thicknesses and various colors. Together each one is woven into the greater cord, but individually has it’s own identity and purpose. This is the nature of the God Story. One greater Story, one ultimate purpose – many threads amplifying the strength, beauty, and power of God’s plan for the human race.

It is easy to view God as acting in a series of “do overs.” But this is NOT the Story of revelation. God created man – and all mankind died through Adam’s choices. But even before the foundations of the earth God’s Son existed in perfect harmony: the Father, The Son, and His Holy Spirit. This is what C.S. Lewis calls “deep magic before the dawn of time.” One God – One Story – One hoped-for destiny!

We owe it to ourselves to do our own fact-checking on whether or not there IS a God Who has spoken. As well as to ask the question “is He speaking to me?”

“You have your heads in your Bibles constantly because you think you’ll find eternal life there. But you miss the forest for the trees. These Scriptures are all about me! And here I am, standing right before you, and you aren’t willing to receive from me the life you say you want.” – John 5:39-40/the message
