RESURRECTION DAY: The Death of Death!

Click here for an extended video teaching on what you own in the treasure of the resurrection.

Eggs and bunnies are great, but depictions of existence without the hope of resurrection are bleak indeed.

I am encouraged during easter/passover that the Story of Jesus is continuing to revolutionize and revitalize the world. It is comforting that there is more to existence than “living a long life” and submitting to the inevitable grave which awaits us.

I would like to highlight two things for you to contemplate today as you search for the kind of hope that will answer every question concerning the mortality of your body and the immortality of your soul.

First: 1 Corinthians 15.26  “The last enemy that will be abolished is death.”
Jesus abolishes our inherited sin and chosen sins and takes them out of the way (Colossians 2:14). He absorbs the hatred between us and our Creator (Ephesians 2:15). And then – He abolishes our forever death – and gives us eternal life through the death and resurrection of His Son.

Then: Acts 2.24  “But God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.”

The anticipated and experienced agony of death goes far beyond our physical demise. And now this ultimate agony has been taken away for those of us who have hoped in Christ.

Is there any true hope apart from the work Jesus has done on the cross to take away our sin?
Is there any antidote to the futility and obscurity of our brief, imperfect human lives upon this earth?
We think there is – and it is found in the resurrection from the dead.

We choose hope!

Here’s to an awesome Resurrection Day!
