BULLIES

“A bully is the man who acts on the assumption that he will not have to fight.” G.K. Chesterton

I’m sure you have seen the Christmas Story movie with little Ralphie. It plays non-stop for 24 hours at least once each year (you’ll shoot your eye out). I love it when bad guys get wh

at is coming to them. Do you feel the same way? It is one thing to see a make-believe super-foil bad guy (or girl) get incinerated in glorious special effects. It is completely another to see real bullies have their bullying return upon their own heads. Priceless.

Rabshakeh was a bully. Isaiah 36; 2 Kings 18,19
Goliath was a bully. 1 Samuel 17
The Jewish leaders were bullies. Satan is a bully. John 8:44
We know bullies when we see them, right?

I hated being bullied. It made me sick when I tried to be a bully. So I quit pretty soon after I gave it a try. That probably began my process of becoming a care-giver rather than a care-taker.

To all the true bullies of the world: God calls this oppression. There is NO EXCUSE for it. And there is nothing which flies under the radar of God. NOTHING. He IS radar.

Here is one I both love and hate. Too convicting I guess.
“Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with those you perceive as lower than you. Do not be wise in your own estimation. Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men.

If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. “But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for doing this will heap burning coals on his head.  Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”  – Romans 12:14-21

Bullies. It will all come out in the end. Priceless.

“A  just balance and scales belong to the LORD; all the weights of the bag are His concern.” – Proverbs 16:11

Selah! (the word means to lift this up to the highway of our God)
