Kingdom 14: Wheat & Weeds

What a curious story in which we find ourselves. While the Author’s Story is perfect, our story is majorly flawed. And while His Word claims no evil originates with Him, we see evil all around us. We are in a massive agrarian story of Wheat and Weeds, the upshot of which is that God is allowing both to grow together, intertwined, until the harvest.

It is important to remember that what is happening around us is not some kind of cosmic mistake – a plan which has gone off the rails with little hope of a good destination. It is common to reach a story premise which indicates that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit became bored after spending eternity together, and they came up with the idea of fulfilling themselves by creating mankind, man being the center of the story. But this is not the case. We, with all our imperfections and risks, have been included in a story in which we are prominent – but not at all the center. We have literally been created for the glory of God, and to be a part of eternal praise to His Incredible Name.

It can be discouraging to encounter the mess around us – and within us. To hope for something better – a way out. With so much to sort out, how in the world are we to find our way – let alone distinguish the strikingly similar plants that the weeds and the tares represent?

Pages 42-43 in Kingdom: Finding Your True Self continues the conversation about the Kingdom parables. We are seed. He is the Sower. He will reap His crop at the end of the age. And it will ALL lift the Name of Most High God for eternity! So cool.

Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and sitting on the cloud was one like a son of man, having a golden crown on His head and a sharp sickle in His hand. And another angel came out of the temple, crying out with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Put in your sickle and reap, for the hour to reap has come, because the harvest of the earth is ripe.” Then He who sat on the cloud swung His sickle over the earth, and the earth was reaped.” – Revelation 14:14-16
