FOURTHSTREAM (WARRIOR) SEMINARY #1
Where some come to remain grounded, expand our connection, and fight the good fight.
The English word seminary comes from the Latin seminarium, which translates directly to “seedbed” or “plant nursery.” Just as a greenhouse provides the ideal conditions for fragile seeds to grow into hearty plants, a seminary acts as a cultivation ground for spiritual growth and leadership. The word for reasoning includes “lego” or sorting through, building well, or playing well (see Luke 13:18-19).
Three ideas converge at Fourthstream Seminary.
#1 The reasoning school (sko-lay) of Tyrannus in Acts 19:8-10
Who were these people?
How did all of Asia Minor hear the word of God through this Greek school at Ephesus?
What does this backdrop teach us about learning in community?
#2 King First – then Kingdom – then Church was the model Jesus taught
Matthew 3:2; 4:17; 5:19, 20; 6:5-14, 33, 34
James 2:5; 2 Peter 1:11; Revelation 1:6
#3 Jesus’ was clear in His teaching about Kingdom seed planting, growing, and harvesting in Matthew 13:36-52
THIS LEADS TO SOME SIGNIFICANT QUESTIONS:
√ Am I a Kingdom scribe? (one who cares to search)
√ Have I become disciple of the Kingdom? (one who chooses to follow)
√ Am I the head of a spiritual household? (perhaps the highest calling)
Welcome to Fourthstream Seminary!
