Solomon’s story is over but his family legacy remains.
Now the kingdom of history’s greatest peace-time king will fracture into two kingdoms: Israel in the north and Judah in the south. The remainder of 1 and 2nd Kings tell the story of this divided kingdom.

This was the context for the prophesies of Isaiah – Zephaniah. The final three prophets: Haggai, Zachariah, and Malachi – speak to Israel as they return from 80 years of captivity.

Saul had no heart – David a whole heart – and Solomon half a heart. The kings of the divided kingdom have scattered hearts. Some are honoring to God, many are not. “And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself.
He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses.
