My Dreams

My Dreams

Dreams and visions of God. Pretty cool, right? And also pretty scary. They happened often during the times of Moses. Daniel the prophet had some encounters here as well. Jesus’ foster-dad, Joseph, had one. His Mom actually encountered her vision through a conversation with the angel Gabriel. What a treasure!

Dreams and visions can be very subjective, but also very powerful as well. We often hear stories from missionaries in other countries where Jesus appears in dreams. Cool! Often I will awaken after a night’s sleep (sometimes fitful and other times restful) with some thought planted into my head-heart, usually leading me somewhere in His Word.

What are your God dreams? Do you have visions which have come to your heart from God?

This is what the prophet Joel announced would happen: “In the Last Days,” God says, “I will pour out my Spirit on every kind of people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will gaze upon God’s visions of His power, and your old men will dream God dreams.

When this time comes I will pour out my Spirit on both men and women who serve me, and they will speak God’s words. I will set wonders in the sky above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billowing smoke. The sun will turn black and the moon blood-red, before the Day of the Lord arrives, the Day tremendous and marvelous. Whoever calls out for help to me, God, will be saved.”           – Acts 2:17-21

Having served in one city in the church of Jesus now for almost 5 decades, Burnadette’s hope is that we will see something better than the human status quo. I personally have been asking God for an awakening of sleeping souls in our city for many years. Right now these are two of our fantastic God-dreams that only God can bring about.

Again, what are your God dreams?
√    These must transcend possessions and accumulation, right?!
√    They must be more of a blessing to God than me, right?!
√    Should they not include dreams of eternal existence as well? (in a totally different environment)

Here are a few brain-starters:
√    In place of hatred among men, there would be peace (different than world peace).
√    Instead of oppression there would be true acts of covering love (rather than self-driven love).
√    We could enjoy healthy days and the freedom to serve and follow God.
√    God would crush evil and overcome it with good.
√    We would find true, lasting heart friends during our lives.
√    God would deliver us from evil and bless us with His goodness.
√    That my propensity toward envy and strife would be overcome by His Spirit.
√    Instead of agitation and fear I could live with peace and confidence.

Your dreams are your own, and it seems God will bless each of us with His mind if we are willing to ask and go through any needed exchange of focus or values.

Are you ready? Why not ask?
