“Peace and Hope are strong companions in the battle for a satisfied mind.” – Nostraldamus
Isaiah’s prophecies continue to rock my heart-world. His harsh words correct me and his hope words make my soul soar.
My preoccupations absorb me. My self-centeredness distracts me. My human condition seems to tolerate tepid mediocrity in my devotion toward my Master.
I love this from Isaiah 9: “The people who walk in darkness will see a great light; those who live in a dark land, the light will shine on them. For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the dominion will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.” Wow! Here is a King Who not only holds supreme position, He reaches out to me with good counsel for my ears and peace to my heart. JESUS sets free what is bound, and whispers words of hope into the ears of His sons and daughters.
When I read Isaiah I have to ask myself the question “Do I open my heart to the reasoning presence of God?”
Isaiah 1.18-20
“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the LORD, “Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they will be (white) like wool. If you consent and obey, You will eat the best of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword.” Truly, the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”
Jesus hope is revealed in Isaiah (these are cool: Isaiah 7:14; 8:14/28:16; 40:3-6; 42 53; 61:1; 66:1)
