One of the things we learn from Adam is that humanity has landed in a risky and dark place. Every one of us. Wherever you look in the pages of the Word of God, it is filled with the Story of people who are “crashing about” in this darkness.
Enter the man Moses. Like each one of us, Moses has his shot at finding his way through the darkness. Just as Adam was enveloped by the deep conflict of loss, Moses found his way to the Light. This is the Story of the Bible – finding God’s Light from our very dark place.
We love Psalm 90. It gives us a pure window into what the soul of Moses acquired. What Adam lost for the human race, Moses found for himself and for all those who embrace the Truth.
“For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming, then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power.” – 1 Corinthians 15:21-24
Today Burnadette and I are praying through this prayer of Moses as we search for keys on our own road toward Light. How do we find our way through the darkness? What can we learn from Adam and Eve that can help us find our way?
