Authentic: The real deal. Faithful to the original. An accurate representation or reflection.
I love photography. What better way to capture a moment and bring back a memory. True authenticity has a living quality to it. The wind in the trees, the light on the water – the smells and sounds in the air are a big deal when we want a memory to come alive. It is more like a living, moving picture. God’s reality is filled with unfolding moments.
Appreciation for authenticity is unique in our fast-paced world. Things move so quickly we must capture moments before they are gone. So – the search for something authentic may suffer in depth as our tech-rich lives unfold.
But meaning is not just found in what is emerging. Substance is found within the things which are authentic. This is different than merely holding to what is old-fashioned or out of date. When we identify what is authentic, depth of meaning is free to flower. When we find authentic connections – our lives and relationships and our sense of meaningful purpose – all begin to vibrate with life.
“The Lord is my light and deliverance. So, with him on my side I’m fearless, afraid of no one and nothing. When evildoers came upon me to tear me apart,These my adversaries and my enemies stumbled and fell.Though an army come against me,My heart will not fear; though war arise against me,In spite of this I shall be confident.
One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek:that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,To behold the beauty of the LORD and to meditate in His presence.” – From Psalm 27
