We hope you are enjoying your journey through the two oldest books in the God Story. We are halfway through our quest to understand our origins and to learn more regarding the questions why is there evil in the world? and why do people suffer? God uses people to convey His personal connection to our lives. He uses arduous life journeys to produce faith, hope, and love in His followers.
Genesis reveals our roots. Abraham appears to have begun as a spiritual loser. But God cultivates faith as Abraham learns what it means to follow the faith-path of the Living God. By the time he offers his son it appears that he is ready to fully entrust himself to His faithful Creator (1 Peter 4:19).
Job and his friends wrestle through their thoughts and share their insights as the book is unfolding. Suffering is one of those inscrutable parts of trying to understand what God is doing.
This week is a pause opportunity to catch up on your reading (if you need to) as well as to visit (or revisit) some fundamental assets which can enhance and deepen your reading.
Genesis: Woven Characters from the God Story traces the highlights across the God Story. It is fulfilling to focus on key characters and how they are viewed in the woven story of scripture.
