We hope you are enjoying your January-February journey through the two oldest books in the God Story. We are halfway through our quest to understand our origins and to learn more regarding the questions “why is there evil in the world?” and “why do people suffer?” God uses people to convey His personal connection to our lives. He uses our arduous life journey to produce faith, hope, and love in His followers.
Genesis reveals our roots. Abraham appears to have started out a spiritual loser. But God cultivates faith as Abraham learns what it means to follow the path of the Living God. By the time he offers his son it appears that he is ready to fully entrust himself to His faithful Creator (1 Peter 4:19).
Job and his friends wrestle through their thoughts and share their insights as the book is unfolding. Suffering is one of those inscrutable parts of trying to understand what God is doing.
This week is a pause opportunity to catch up on your reading (if you need to) as well as to visit (or revisit) some fundamental assets that can enhance and deepen your reading.
