In our culture the subject of death is embraced by some, ignored by many, and glossed over by most. Of course, life and death are a reality shared by every human who has ever lived. But Jesus’ take on what happens after we die is unique among the religious sages of the world. His insights are the focus of this worldview podcast.
Where we come from and where we are going are questions specifically addressed in the God Story. The time in between – our lives – while very significant, dull when compared to God’s purpose for each of our souls – not only in this arena of faith, but also in the world to come.
There are many things to fear about the unknown, but God gives us extreme clarity on both the reality and destination of the part of us that is our soul.
“But God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.” – Acts 2:24
“But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:37-39
“When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, “Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades. Therefore write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place after these things.” – Revelation 1:17-19
