073 BBB: To The Hebrews

God IS big picture. Though He is God of infinite complexity – He is also macro in every sense. And there is nothing He accomplishes which does not dovetail completely into His purposes of bringing glory to Himself.

On a human level this can sound self-serving, but try to imagine it from Creator perfection. If the Father and the Son and the Spirit are perfect and in need of nothing, the entire story premise is different.

This is the meta-story of the Word of God. Who created everything? What other beings are contained in the Story? Where does mankind fit into the Story? What is the ultimate purpose of the Story in which we find ourselves? How will the Story end?

The letter to the Hebrews ties together the so-called old and new testaments. Through the Jews we are taught the story of God. The Son Jesus. Angels. Moses. The priesthood. The tabernacle. The holy place. Entering into God’s rest. All of these are earthly copies of heaven’s realities. The better we understand the ins and outs of the teachings of the letter to the Hebrews, the better equipped we will be to see where we fit into the incredible plan of the glory of God.

Enjoy diving deeper into the letter to the Hebrews. It is truly an enlightening book, and worth every moment you invest!

“God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.

And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they.”  – Hebrews 1:1-4
