What We Must Own

(Read the Curious Journey essay on page 105. We think you will find it stimulating!)

There is a deep and lasting purpose in our existence. When we understand and embrace this purpose we have the opportunity to find ourselves – the way we were meant to be. The ultimate gift here is that Kingdom spirituality is the door to forever. Forever.

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities — all things have been created through Him and for Him.

He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.

For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.”   – Colossians 1:15-20

We are invited to own this understanding in our hearts – and to live it in our choices for living. In doing so we may find true peace for our souls.

“As He spoke these things, many came to believe in Him. So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”  – John 8:30-32

The stakes are greater than most of humanity will ever imagine. Note the clarity and simplicity of Jesus’ words on this:

“Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?”
– Matthew 16:24-26

What is it that you own? What is at the core of your worldview? In what ways is your faith increasing? Your love growing? Your hope expanding? These are the heart questions of the purpose of Jesus’ coming to earth.

“For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” – Luke 19:10

“And he said to him, ‘Son, you have always been with me, and all that is mine is yours. ‘But we had to celebrate and rejoice, for this brother of yours was dead and has begun to live, and was lost and has been found.’”  – Luke 15:31-32

Selah! Let’s allow this to pull us up to the highway of our God, my friend!
