I have been asked a lot of questions lately about the end of days. What will happen? How will it happen? Who will it impact. Here are a couple of thoughts about eternity as we wrestle with end of days scenarios. Whatever your view of the end – the Bible sees it as an amazing beginning!
Point one: In our varied worldview belief systems, eternity appears to be perceivable by the heart.
“He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end.” – Ecclesiastes 3:11
Point two: Eternity for mankind has a start point.
“…but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.” – 2 Peter 3:18
This being said, the pros and cons of this are difficult for us to imagine. On the one hand is eternal life in the presence of the glory of God. On the other, a distinctly heart-shattering existence part from the glory of God. Wow.
Humanity is unique among God’s creation. There are other dimensions. Other creatures.
There are authority structures which precede our arrival.
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” – Ephesians 6:12
“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding, who set its measurements? Since you know. Or who stretched the line on it? On what were its bases sunk? or who laid its cornerstone, when the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy?” – Job 38:4-7
Some provoking lines of thought:
Why have these parameters been set?
Why is life filled with struggles and uncertainty?
Why the nature of life and death?
Can we trust God with His plan, even though so many things seem to be messed up around us?
What will eternity be like? Will it be different for those who believe and those who have rejected Christ?
I have carefully traced the three threads of the Jews, the Nations, and the True Jews for in this guide. Take a look. print it out, and use it to find your own answers concerning what occurs at the end of days and beyond. Israel/The Nations/True Jews
