Family Partnership

One thing we have loved about our 45 years of marriage (and almost as many parenting and watching our grandkids grow) is what we have learned about the partnerships of life. While paradigms range from passive parenting to over-controlled approaches, we have found we are better together. And not just as a couple. But as a family. And even beyond this we have enjoyed the partnership of community with others who have the same values and goals.

There are two conversation sheets here.

The first defines and discusses these partnerships which may occur within a home.

The second discusses how to Keep the Home-fires burning. How do we make parenting choices which will nourish rather than discourage our kids?

We think you will enjoy them!

Hang in there with the discussion conversations. As we mentioned before, we are opening the door to conversations which may be relevant through decades rather than just weeks or even years. After all, God is not bound by time, and a thousand years is like a moment to Him. He is producing things in us which may not only take a lifetime – they are worth a lifetime!

“Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live?

For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, so that we may share His holiness.

All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.”  – Hebrews 12:9-11
