It takes spirituality from both genders to build a strong home. Men are primarily given the role of protector by God. Woman are designed to nurture. Just because our culture is upside down on this does not make it any less true.
This has nothing to do with how a person is valued. We have equal value before God: man and woman. In our last post we talked about male foundations for spirituality. Today we talk about female foundations.
A sense of safety is one of the greatest needs for kids growing up. Security comes from both parents firing on all cylinders. A strong, nurturing Mom insists on security for her kids. Her role is to make sure this happens, and to do all she can to build a mature spiritual relationship with her husband – and visa-versa.
“In the resurrection, when they rise again, which one’s wife will she be? For all seven had married her.” Jesus said to them, “Is this not the reason you are mistaken, that you do not understand the Scriptures or the power of God?
For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. But regarding the fact that the dead rise again, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the burning bush, how God spoke to him, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?
He is not the God of the dead, but of the living; you are greatly mistaken.”
– Mark 12:23-27
God made us male and female to reflect His strength and beauty. Neither are exclusive to one gender. Selah.
