When answering the great scientific, philosophical, and faith questions of life – the issue “has God spoken?” is central to finding our way. If God has spoken, then we have answers we can count on. If He has not, the prognosis for true faith is bleak.

The concept of two testaments is extra-biblical. Nowhere in scripture is there named a so-called old testament or a new testament. Instead, the God Story guides us through one woven story. It begins with creation and ends with heaven and eternity. In the garden all men and women die spiritual death. In the Law and the prophets we are given the redemptive story: God delivers through sacrifice. God explains in great detail Who and how this sacrifice of redemption will occur.

The Bible teaches us that the Son created the world. He is also the sacrifice for the sins of the world (John 3:16).

“God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high…” – Hebrews 1:1-3

“And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.”  – 1 John 5:20

Within this Story we have been given everything we need to find our way through the door of the Kingdom: Jesus (John 10:7).

When the Bible is allowed to interpret itself there is little room for interpretation. “So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts. But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.” – 2 Peter 1:19-21
