God has plunged us into more training concerning spiritual warfare. It has been rigorous, at times painful, and even exhilarating. Warfare is not a new subject to ourselves and our friends. A number of years ago we heard Bruce Wilkinson speak at a Navigator gathering. His subject: Strongholds. Over the next years we were taught more deeply about a) how people are healed, b) the nature of strongholds in the war, and c) and the rewards of fighting this battle. You can find these core teachings under podcasts by subject in the Nav Bar: K29/K30/K31.
It feels as though Jesus wants us to invite our friends into these ongoing conversations. We are hearing from His Spirit about identifying and addressing the activities of evil, satan, and demons in our own lives and among those whom we love. We will think, converse, and pray through the following:
What is the nature and extent of this type of influence in the world?
What is the practical impact of such a long-lasting, coordinated effort in the lives within our culture?
What is there to learn and implement for ourselves regarding warfare over the soul?
What can we do to help and encourage others within this warfare reality?
Evil is very real and we should have great respect for principalities and powers. We need to be reasonably informed to the degree we pursue God-freedom from and over these influences. We must also embrace our Jesus identity and the nature of the war, and encounter evil in the manner Jesus did: directly, in the Spirit, and without fear.
We will do our best, as always, to bring you what we observe from the woven threads of the Word, allowing scripture to interpret itself. Freedom is at the heart of what Jesus brings to the world – to all who call upon His name. Engaging in prayerful warfare can be a beautifully liberating thing.
The seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” And He said to them, “I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning. Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven.” – Luke 10 (this entire chapter is connected)
