Burnadette and I have had a productive, somewhat wild, and very connecting journey together. I can remember when we realized we had been married as long as we had been single! Now we face the future with great memories and a tested, growing friendship.
I wrote this song when the kids were pretty small. We recorded it in a studio in Sioux City and have shared it a few times with others over the years. Hope you enjoy it. We are excited about our next milestone!
We have put some of our learned experiences into a study. Go to Strong Homes in the nav bar under Courses – have some fun! The notebook course is divided into two parts: marriage – then family.
“If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.
“Love never gives up and cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut and doesn’t have a swelled head.
Love does not force itself on others and isn’t always “me first.”
It doesn’t fly off the handle or keep score of the sins of others,
and doesn’t revel when others grovel,
and takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Love puts up with anything, trusts God always, looks for the best.
It never looks back, but keeps going to the end.
Love never dies.” – 1 Corinthians 13:3-8/M
