Spacious Places

These 12 podcasts include both audio and video teachings with notes embedded within each video. Each explores God’s desire for us to move into spacious places and find the freedom God intends – the freedom of living with a clear conscience.

The words of Moses embodied in the ten commandments have received much attention in both the historic church and human culture. Apart from the words of Jesus, these may be some of the most liberating statements of freedom given to us all. It is important to contextualize these commands:

  • Faith came 430 years before the giving of the Law of Moses.
  • The bondage (enslavement of the people) represented by Egypt was extensive and complete.
  • The purpose of the Law of Moses was to set people free and allow the Hebrew people to experience a God home-base.
  • Who is God? These ten commandments make it very clear Who He is, and what He desires and expects from those He has created.

Jesus was crystal-clear: “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.” – Mark 13:31

“Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” – Matthew 5:17-19

Perhaps this will provide a refreshing take on the Ten Commandments – without diminishing them in order to cover for ourselves!

Enjoy!
