Fourthstream Core 20

Over our years teaching, counseling, and growing we have pressed into a series of key topics in response to varied experiences and many conversations. We have concluded that science, philosophy, and faith will converge, and that each presents opportunities to Know God and arrive at a satisfied mind.

While religion does some good, by and large it sucks up the air in the room regarding authentic faith. It is our quest to return to the Kingdom faith of Jesus. King first – then kingdom – then church. When we align with the priorities of Jesus, power is unlocked within and around us. These podcasts capture the essence of FINDING HOPE, and will help access the resources of Fourthstream.com.  – Dave & Burnadette Nadler

1. Turbulence In Imperfection

You will find that as your years unfold within your God-ordained days there will be watershed moments of realization and meaning. I have written several books as each of these pivots has occurred. The first, Curious Journey, has to do with my unfolding conclusions about the…

2. Authenticity

The concept of authenticity deserves to be visited often. If we cannot find authenticity in truth, relationships, and direction for living we are in a pretty tough spot. I define authenticity as genuine. The real deal. It is the expression of God upon the earth, for if something is…

3. One Woven Story

When answering the great scientific, philosophical, and faith questions of life – the issue “has God spoken?” is central to finding our way. If God has spoken, then we have answers we can count on. If He has not, the prognosis for true faith is bleak. The concept of two testaments…

why-this-story-002

4. Why This Story? (1)

As we contemplate the King’s teaching about the Kingdom in the Gospels it is striking how Jesus explained our pursuit of God. King first, then Kingdom – then church. As you listen to our 8 minute God Story, read Psalm 2 as a backdrop. What do you think is going on in the…

5. Why This Story? (2)

Weighing our sources for science, philosophy, and faith can be a great help in our search for a satisfied mind. This is part 2 of WHY THIS STORY? Dave continues to develop the big picture on why we should seriously consider the God Story (the Bible) as our non-religious handbook…

6. Intersects

Each of has our own areas of interest or fascination. Science and the natural world captures imagination and interest. In just the last several decades, our capacity for viewing and processing wondrous things has exploded! Our search of the heavens as well as our growth in viewing and understanding the building blocks of life continues to multiple rapidly…

7. Your Story Matters

Do you ever feel a little lost or disconnected? Things you hope for either don’t work out or leave you feeling flat? This is exactly addressed in the God Story. There is a “God-shaped hole” in all of us, and no amount of love, money, friends, or stuff will take the place God created within us to fill. YOU ARE THE STORY! Well – GOD is the Story – and you and I are…

8. Finding Your True Self

Every religion is secondary to the Kingship of Christ. All of them. Including historic christianity. The Kingdom is personal. It is comprehensive. It is complete. Kingdom spirituality is authentic – not based upon religious pursuit or perfection, but rather, genuine connection. Jesus said many startling things, such as, “What does it profit a man to gain the whole…

9. Mentored By God

FINDING OUR WAY IN A DARKENING WORLD It is no secret there is increasing difficulty in the world. There is much counterfeit light. By and large the Living God is rejected. Truth is beyond relative, and discourse is miniscule. People are isolated and often feeling hopeless. As the world darkens – we live as sons and daughters of light…

10. Container & Water

God is a builder. He delights in fulfilling what He conceives in His Mind. He creates containers and fills them with beautiful, creative, complex, and purposeful things. He is the greatest intellect. He is the greatest heart. He is unlimited both in imagination and the power to bring things into being. He is over all, above all, through…

11. The Circle

In my years of searching the God Story for deeper understanding I have been touched by so many things. I consider what I call the woven threads of the Bible to get a clearer picture of Who God Is, who I am, and why things are unfolding the way they have. Jesus is obviously the point of the God Story. The Law and the prophets told us He was coming. The Psalms are filled…

waking-up

12. Waking Up

We live in a world that is asleep spiritually. One of the things I love about faith philosopher CS Lewis’ stories is that he often recognizes and paints pictures of our sleepy dream state. If you have ever read or seen Prince Caspian you know what I mean. People can be asleep even though we appear awake. This is the nature of both deception and the Deceiver. If…

the-god-family-001

13. The God Family

God IS family. As the Father of all living things He calls the shots, sets boundaries, and establishes any assignment of value. Consider this: “The God who made the world and everything in it, this Master of sky and land, doesn’t live in custom-made shrines or need the human race to run errands for him, as if he couldn’t take care of himself. He makes the creatures…

well-done-001

14. Well Done Race

Satisfaction in life can be fleeting. Even major markers or phases can be achieved and still leave us feeling unsatisfied. Anyone who trains for a race or a competition will tell you that after all the hard work reward is incredibly key. This is how Paul taught us about our lives of faith. “Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the…

ultimate-promise-001

15. Ultimate Promise

Life is filled with challenges. Imperfection. Turbulence. Sometimes things can seem suffocating. This provides a contrast to hope. Hope is the opposite. It sees the horizon and what is most surely coming. “For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait …

the-jesus-mission-001

16. The Jesus Mission

There is no doubt Jesus is far and away the most impactful human. Each decade and century has been unable to deny His seemingly living presence. This is often mistaken for religious effort, but actually reveals a supernatural aspect no one else owns in history. Nothing was done in a corner. His life, His teaching, His miracles – were all on parade for humanity…

end-of-days-001

17. End Of Days Hope

Many think the world will never end. Others believe there is a fixed timeframe until everything is rolled up. And others believe pondering such things is futile and even silly. Some scoff/some fear/some know/some prepare: “But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. The Lord is not…

world-at-war-001

18. World At War

I have always believed we were in a fight. My years as a teacher and people-helper have made this very clear to me. When you honestly look at oppression in any and every century or nation, it is very difficult for a fair-minded person to explain away evil. The God Story is filled with threads of connection between what is natural and what is supernatural. From before…

intercession-002

19. Intercession

In the spiritual world intercession is where one party stands with others to request intervention from God on another’s behalf – for the purpose of help, justice, or support. Jesus and His Spirit intercede for us and they invite us to do the same for others: “In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit…
