Good Deeds and Sharing

Making a splash, being recognized, or accumulation is the currency of ascending humanity (does that even make sense?). God’s places value on other things – the deeper each is tied to humility – the greater the God value. Here is a quick look at doing good and sharing.

“This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitable for men…Our people must also learn to engage in good deeds to meet pressing needs, so that they will not be unfruitful.         – Titus 3:8, 14

“…and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds…”                   – Hebrews 10:24

“Keep your behavior excellent among those who do not believe, so that in the thing in which you are slandered as doing evil, they observe your good deeds, glorify God in the day of Jesus’ return.”  – 1 Peter 2:12

So, good deeds (good labors, good work) are of value to God. These would include such things as:

√   helping those who are weak or disadvantaged
√   showing kindness to those who have less than we do
√   standing up for those who are vulnerable
√   extending ourselves to others when it costs us time, talents, or treasure
√   setting our own interests aside to help others with pressing needs

When we share we break down barriers of isolation – and by doing so follow in the example of Jesus!

Good deeds and sharing are powerful tools for the servant of God who wishes to impact the lives of family and neighbors.

And when we join other friends in such things, we are blessed in multiplied ways!
