Sometimes people need a fresh start. Most times we don’t. But when things go wrong – get twisted and tough, it is a relief to begin again.
Our Father is the ultimate re-setter of lives. When all can appear to be hopeless and unchangeable, God can renew. And this is exactly what He did in Jesus.
“But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, by abolishing in His flesh the hostility, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace, and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the hostility.”– Ephesians 2:13-16/NASB
The “one new man” described here is the fusion of Jews and Gentiles into a new race, what the God Story calls a “heart Jew.”
“Don’t you see: It’s not the cut of a knife that makes a Jew. You become a Jew by who you are. It’s the mark of God on your heart, not of a knife on your skin, that makes a Jew. And recognition comes from God, not legalistic critics.” – Romans 2:28-29/Message
We are invited to live for Someone and Something greater than ourselves.
Enjoy!
