Psalm 106 and 118

Psalm 106 is a great “story Psalm.” It tells about the ups and downs of God’s people as well as the great compassion He has for His children. It is important as you read to become skilled at extracting and enjoying the word pictures  provided in each Psalm. As we translate these into our own stories it can be helpful in our journey, amplifying spiritual truth in a world filled with temporary wisdom.

Here are a few Psalm word pictures. Identify the picture(s) and allow each to develop in your mind. What do you see and how does each translate into your world?

FROM PSALM 118

“The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief corner stone.
This is the LORD’S doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day which the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

O LORD, save us, we beg You; O LORD, we beg You, do send prosperity!
Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the LORD;
We have blessed you from the house of the LORD.

The LORD is God, and He has given us light;
Bind the festival sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar.
You are my God, and I give thanks to You;
You are my God, I extol You. Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good;
For His lovingkindness is everlasting.”

Singing the day away with you!
