In the spiritual world intercession is where one party stands with others to request intervention from God on another’s behalf – for the purpose of help, justice, or support. Jesus and His Spirit intercede for us and they invite us to do the same for others:
“In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God…who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.” – Romans 8:26,27,34
We are also called to be a house of prayer for our friends, our homes, and for the city in which we live. Cool! This may even more important than much of the “plugging in” activities many followers of Jesus experience!
“Even those I will bring to My holy mountain and make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be acceptable on My altar; for My house will be called a house of prayer for all the peoples.” – Isaiah 56:7

From the book of Job/Job 42:10 – “prayer, forgiveness, and restoration…”
From Moses/Numbers 16 – “Moses fell on His face…”
From the Psalms/51:17 – a broken spirit and a humbled and contrite heart
From Jesus/Matthew 5:43-48 – leave justice in God’s hands
From Christ’s followers/James 5:16 – pray for healing
