When we forge common goals and pursue them together our marriage loyalty grows. Achieving goals together in turn enhances our partnership.
If we can avoid being selfish and/or manipulating we can build a renewing atmosphere of respect. Women need to know they come second only to God in the eyes of their husband. Men need to know their partner is in their corner – come hell or high-water. (what does that mean anyway?)
If we can put ourselves in our spouses shoes it is much easier to feel empathy and desire to overcome adversity or differences. Living life at odds is agitating and flies in the face of how God has made us to triumph. Humility doesn’t just happen, it is learned. Much like sacrificial love.
GOD said, “It’s not good for the Man to be alone; I’ll make him a helper, a companion.”
