Becoming a Kingdom leader is all about growing from the inside-out. Here we combine several key teachings to explore this together. If you are looking for target metrics for your spiritual journey, you will need to look to God’s Word – and then within.
The followers in the wake of Jesus’ visit to the earth were counted on to be certain kinds of men and women, and to use what God had freely given to help shape and encourage others in the Spirit. God-strength comes from the inside-out.
After He called the crowd to Him again, He began saying to them, “Listen to Me, all of you, and understand: there is nothing outside the man which can defile him if it goes into him; but the things which proceed out of the man are what defile the man. “If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.” – Mark 7:14-16
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside they are full of robbery and self-indulgence. You blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and of the dish, so that the outside of it may become clean also. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. So you, too, outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.” – Matthew 23:25-28
And Jesus said to them, “Therefore every scribe who has become a disciple of the kingdom of heaven is like a head of a household, who brings out of his treasure things new and old.” – Matthew 13:52
